A dentist speaking to a patient reclined in the chair

Please only complete this survey if you have tried to book a dentist appointment for an adult or a child since June 2020.

Since the start of Covid-19, patients have been telling us that they have found it hard to access dentists. This is a nationwide issue, that has reached the media and been raised by local Healthwatch across the country.

Since April 2021, 25% of our calls have been to raise concerns about access to dental practices and people who are struggling to book an appointment.

We are keen to understand people’s experiences of local dentist services since practices re-opened on 8th June 2020 following the first Covid-19 Lockdown.

Primarily, the aim of this survey is to share your experiences to improve services locally, but it will also to enable us to help build a national picture of dental services. This will enable local Healthwatch to work with Healthwatch England to improve the quality of dental services for everyone.

Please note: this survey is anonymous and should take 5 - 10 minutes to complete. Make your voice count...  Take the survey

Whipps Cross services affected by heavy rainfall

A spokesperson for Barts Health NHS Trust said:

“We are continuing to experience operational issues at Whipps Cross Hospital due to the heavy rainfall yesterday. We are working hard to clean up affected areas and keeping the situation under constant review.

“We have cancelled planned surgery and outpatient appointments at Whipps Cross for tomorrow (27 July). The majority of procedures, including those within maternity, are being provided at other hospitals within the Barts Health group. Outpatient appointments will be held virtually or in alternative buildings, if possible. Affected patients will be contacted by our clinical teams.

“We would like to thank patients for their understanding and remind the public to check our visiting arrangements before coming in. Further updates will be provided as the situation changes.” (more...)
