The Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) announced finalists for the 2021 RAMMY Awards. Special for this year only, new categories were identified that speak to 2020 and the myriad of challenges, unforeseen hurdles, and opportunities that arose to let creativity shine.
Many Capitol Hill Neighborhood restaurants have been honored as finalists including:

The Duck & The Peach, Most Innovative To-Go Packaging Game
The Roost, Technology Trailblazers
Fight Club, Hottest New Sandwich Shop
Call Your Mother, Stellar Brunches at Home
The winners of which will be announced on Sunday, September 19, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
The Roost's beer bar Shelterwill be officially opening at full capacity, expanding their selection to 50 drafts and opening bar seating this Friday, July 30!
A few of the new drafts include:
Bluejacket Always Wonder, Schankbier Lager (3.5%)
Fantome Dark White, Saison (4.7%)
Outer Range Way Down, Hazy Double IPA (8.7%)
Tilquin Mûre 2020, Fruit Lambic (4.8%)
Traunstein Dunkel, Dunkel Lager (5.0%) & many more!
One of the unique features of the Shelter draft list is a focus on low-abv selections – up to 50% of the beers clock in below 5% abv!
Labyrinth Games & Puzzles is hosting their Summer rummage sale this weekend on July 31 and August 1 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM!
For sale will be demo games that have been retired from the collection, games and puzzles with slightly damaged boxes, and donations from customers over the past two years. There will be over 1,100 items to explore!
Prices are set low to begin with, but will also be dropping throughout the weekend. All proceeds from the rummage sale will go toward community initiatives, including the Labyrinth Teacher Fund and their demo library.
The Literary Feast is back (with a few minor tweaks) and the Capitol Hill Community Foundation is looking for hosts! This community-wide dinner party is a chance to mingle with new and old friends and raise money for the Foundation Community Grants for our neighborhood schools.
Scheduled for October 23, the feasts this year will also include the “Literary Pumpkin Walk”.
