Greetings Multisporters,

In case you missed our last email, we're still all systems go for a live, in-person Bruce Peninsula Multisport Race - presented by Bruce Power this coming August 7th and 8th weekend! As mentioned in the last email, we've made many adjustments to ensure a Covid-Safe event. To that end, the updated Racer Handbook can now be viewed/downloaded from the website. There are many new adjustments and protocols required in 2021, so even if you attended the event for years, please read this document carefully so we can ensure a safe and fun event for everyone.

Some other changes we wanted to communicate include:

Friday Night Dinner. The Friday night pasta dinner has been cancelled. Anyone who purchased a pasta dinner during registration will receive a refund by interac e-transfer.

Slower Racers Please Request an Early Start Time. If you expect to finish in the bottom quarter of participants, or if you've had trouble meeting time cutoff's in the past, please email quepasacanada@gmail.com and request an early start time. This helps ensure our volunteers aren't on course longer than expected, but also provides the best chance of finishing and not being stopped by a cutoff.

Arrive On Time. We're asking all participants to show up 1-hour before their designated start time to ensure enough time to prepare and to keep people distanced. If a participant arrives at kit pick-up with less than 30 minutes before their assigned start time they will not be permitted to race as it won't afford enough time to prepare in an orderly fashion.

Transfers and Registrations Close Tuesday August 3rd, 2021. No transfers or new registrations will be allowed after 11:59pm on Tuesday August 3rd, 2021. Details on transfers or refunds can be seen at this link.

Subaru Long Course Deferrals. Since we were required to change the date of the Subaru Long Course, we're permitting participants signed up for that event to defer to 2022 if they can no longer attend due to a scheduling conflict. Email quepasacanada@gmail.com to request a deferral.

Start Times. Start times will be assigned next Wednesday August 4th after registration closes.

Final Email. You'll receive one last email from us next Wednesday. It will include:

  • A link to the pre-race briefing video (which needs to be watched before the event)
  • the start list with each individual start time
  • a link to the forms set (waiver, liability release, image release, health form, and affidavit of skills) which needs to be filled out online before arriving at the host site.
  • a link to the Canatrace Covid Pre-Screening App, which needs to be executed the morning of your respective event and again, prior to arrival at the host site.

Volunteers Needed!
While we can't permit spectators at the main host venue this summer, we're still in need of many volunteers. If you're registered and have friends or family who'd like to join you, please consider having them sign-up to volunteer. And for those looking for a great day spent outdoors supporting a great community, please also consider donating some time to volunteer. Volunteers can sign up at this link, or email bpmrvolley@gmail.com.

Thanks in advance for your continued patience and understanding as we aim to provide a great, fun and safe event for all.

Yours in adventure,

The BPMR Organizing Committee
