Officially Launched
People's Party of Washington #PPOW is a legally recognized political party in Washington State! A cause for celebration!
Our acronym is PPOW which announces our intent to shatter the political establishment. Our slogan is People Before Profit.
The press releases are out, the paperwork is filed, and we are ready to officially accept Members (and their much-needed donations!)

Press Release
Washington voters now have a viable choice for people-first representation at all levels of government. The People's Party of Washington #PPOW registered its charter as a 527 tax-exempt political organization with the Washington Secretary of State’s office on May 20, 2021.
“The People’s Party gives voters a true choice to support a political party and candidates who pledge not to accept funding from big corporations,” said Marc Mixon, PPOW Chair.
The People’s Party of Washington will:
- Focus on policies and programs that help Washington residents, not corporate interests.
- Represent the interest of the 99% and create a system that values each person and supports economic and social justice for all.
- Is structured to make space for and actively solicit all voices to participate in a deliberative and dynamic democracy.
- Not be governed by a select few in party leadership as decision-making authority is shared among those working in the trenches.
- Vows to have no backroom deals and will maintain full transparency.

Washington is the 6th state to have a People's Party registered! The good news is that Washington, unlike 39 of our 50 states, does not have to sign any petitions to be legally recognized as a political party.

Premera: We Deny Your Claim! Demonstration - July 30
- Join the Washington Community Action Network in demanding Premera stop exorbitant rate increases and denying patients the care they deserve on Friday July 30th at 1:00 - 3:00 pm PDT at 7005 220th St SW, Mountlake Terrace. More information can be found here

PPOW Initial Organizing Meeting - Saturday, August 28
- The Initial Organizing Meeting of the People’s Party of Washington, where we will be democratically selecting our State Chair, State Vice Chair, and State Secretary/Treasurer, will take place (virtually) on Saturday, August 28th from 3:00 – 5:00 pm.
- If you are interested in being involved with this process, please join us to become a Member (no dues required). All PPOW Members who are actively volunteering can participate in this Initial Organizing Meeting.
