“If you go you can either win or not win. If you don’t go for it, you definitely won’t win” – Jens Voigt
Barrie TT Report - July 27, 2021
Today 8 riders made the trip to Barrie to take part in the Barrie TT. It was a beautiful evening with barely a cloud in the sky, and virtually no wind to affect the outcome. However due to the recent precipitation, the humidity was at peak saturation, which was enough to affect Peter Henry’s performance. Several quick times were posted and Gord Grimes posted another personal best time. Jan Jensen made his first appearance at a TT, and considering his lack of training, he posted an excellent time. Victor Tolgyessy volunteered his services at the turnaround which was most appreciated. Also Gord Grimes saved me from being eaten alive by clouds of mosquitoes thanks to his bug spray, and Jeff Lucyk located the turnaround for me.It was a great evening, and as I said, volunteers make things happen. The results are posted below.
This Saturday the Time Trial will be held at McCowan Road. A turnaround volunteer is required for Heat 2, which starts at 10:15. Please let me know if you are available.
Tomorrow the Hill Climb on Bathurst Street is on at 7:00 PM. So far only 2 people have signed up. I will be there to time it, but more riders should turn up. One can do a ride in the Marsh to loosen their legs, then finish the evening off by attacking the Hill. What a fine way to conclude the evening!
