Greetings! The All Children - All Families team hopes you’re finding time for some rest and relaxation this summer. This month HRC is marking Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) Mental Health Month, formerly recognized as Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. This is a time to recognize the particular urgency of addressing all forms of discrimination that affect our queer and trans BIPOC communities and connecting LGBTQ people with needed resources. Tune in to our 5th annual panel discussion on mental health in QTBIPOC communities tomorrow to learn more. Details below.

REGISTER: ACAF’s Final Webinar of the
2021 Series

Join ACAF on August 4th at 2 PM ET for “Traditionally Religious AND LGBTQ-Affirming: How Social Workers Can Help Families Be Both,” our final webinar of the 2021 series. For some families, their religious beliefs seem directly in conflict with affirming their child’s LGBTQ identity. Social workers, clinicians and other providers can help families negotiate the journey in ways that support their values and their children. This webinar will feature social workers who successfully balanced their own religious beliefs with their professional responsibilities and offer participants strategies for use in their work and in their personal lives.

TUNE IN: 5th Annual Panel on Mental Health in Queer & Trans BIPOC Communities

Tomorrow at 6 PM ET HRC is hosting our 5th annual panel discussion on mental health in Queer and Transgender, Black, Indigenous, People of Color, or QTBIPOC, communities. The panel is moderated by ACAF's Associate Director, Jean-Phillipe Regis, and will focus on the importance of prioritizing wellness and mental health. Learn more.

SHARE: “KIDS MEET A TRANS ATHLETE” VIDEO

To mark the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, HRC partnered with Athlete Ally, Cut.com and transathlete.com on a moving and fun new video. The video features kids getting to know Chris Mosier, a triathlete, duathlete, race walker and six-time member of Team USA, who was the first out transgender man to compete in a men’s Olympic Trials and first openly transgender person to qualify for an Olympic Trials in their affirmed gender. The video makes a great conversation starter or training refresher on SOGIE topics, specifically related to trans and non-binary identities and actions we can all take to be supportive.

BOOKMARK: LGBTQ Equality Maps from MAP

MAP’s interactive LGBTQ Equality Maps provide a comprehensive look at the current state of laws and policies impacting LGBTQ people across the United States. The Equality Maps offer a state-by-state comparison of the policy landscape and gaps in protections for LGBTQ people across the country.
