August 1st (Psalm 106:1)
Pray for Team Obadiah: the translator is thankful the team could submit the draft to the exegetical consultant. Praise! The revisions are all done for now, and the team is preparing a clean draft for Comprehension checks.

August 2nd (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
Pray for Team Obadiah: the exegetical checker is grateful for good discussion with the consultant and for third party feedback. Because the signer does not live in Tokyo, they will meet via zoom while the people checking and reviewing the drafts will meet in Tokyo.

August 3rd (Romans 15:5)
Pray for Team Romans: the translator is thankful that he could get some valuable feedback from the team. The Romans team will be meeting in person at the office to go over the 6th and 7th drafts but they have been working remotely whenever possible due to the State of Emergency in Tokyo.

August 4th (Ezra 7:10)
Pray for Team Ezra: When we read the story of Ezra, we tend to focus on his emotional reaction and/or the faithlessness of the Israelites. But we hope that by sharing the translation with Deaf people in Japan they will see why Ezra was so emotional and how much being faithful to God meant to him and the people of Israel and why we, people living today, can marry who we love, no matter where they are from.

August 5th (Joshua 1:8)
Pray for Team Joshua: the exegetical checker found Joshua 1:8 to be impactful because it teaches we can be prosperous as we keep the book of the Law (God’s Words). The team has two signers working remotely that are newer to the project. They are training to use our shadowing technique to produce clean drafts that have natural eye gaze and facial expressions.

August 6th (Luke 17:11-19)
Pray with Ms.Yagi who wants many Deaf to enjoy the story of Luke 17:11-19 that shows how God gives faith to one who is a Samaritan as well as a leper.

August 7th (Psalm 113:3)
Pray for Pastor Kori as she serves on the leadership team and for her congregation in Hiroshima as they worship today.

August 8th (Romans 3:27-28)
Pray for Team Romans who want to share Romans 3:27-31 because it teaches why God gave faith and the law.

August 9th (Obadiah 1)
Pray for Team Obadiah’s exegetical checker who is encouraged by verse 1 that shows that Obadiah’s message is from the Lord.

August 10th (John 14:15-17)
Pray for Ms. Otsubo who is encouraged by John 14:15-17 because it reminds her the Holy Spirit is always with her.

August 11th (John 6:35,40)
Pray with Mr.Yamamoto who wants Deaf people to get to know the meaning of “bread of life” from John 6:26-40.

Pray for Pastor Minamida and Tokyo Deaf Church as they worship today.

August 15th (Philippians 4:1)
Pray for Kohki’s praise that the team is thankful for prayers just like how Paul rejoices in Philippians 4:1.

August 16th (Romans 8:28)
Pray for Team Romans who have learned that the translation process is in His hands and as Romans 8:28 says “All things God works for the good.”

August 17th (Psalm 9:1)
Pray for Uiko, who is thankful that there are always new ideas and discoveries in every morning meeting for the staff to discuss.

August 18th (Matthew 5:3-10)
Pray with Ms. Otsubo, who wants many Deaf people to see Matthew 5:3-12 because it clearly shows God’s view on people.

August 21st (Acts 20:24)
Pray for Fukushima Deaf Church and Yamagata Deaf Church and Pastor Matsumoto as they worship today.

August 22nd (Colossians 3:15)
Pray for Mr. Yamamoto, who is thankful he can improve his translation skills as he checks the large amount of data in the JSL Bible and thinks how the draft can be improved for clarity.

August 23rd (Obadiah 11)
Pray for Team Obadiah who has learned the message of Obadiah verse 11 is that our attention and confirmation for others shows what is in our hearts.

August 24th (Ezra 5:11)
