Did you miss the first All Hands meeting? Here's a 5-minute supercut!

In Case You Missed It ...
ALL HANDS is a new resource for NYS CDFI Coalition Members

During the pandemic, the NYS CDFI Coalition board got into a cadence of meeting by Zoom once a week at lunchtime.

These Friday Noon Zooms gave CDFI executives from across the state the chance to compare notes, express frustration, and collaborate on some of the biggest challenges of their careers.

At least one of them has noted that membership in the CDFI Coalition was a lot cheaper than therapy!

We thought it would be a good idea to extend this opportunity to our members, and convene a meeting every other month, where we could share business updates; celebrate milestones and the people who made them possible; and give everyone a chance to ask questions.

What would YOU like to talk about? Funding and financing? Best practices? Legislative issues? Products or services for CDFIs? Special events or job postings like those below? Please take this short survey and let us know!

Not sure if you're a member? Check your membership status here!

If you signed up for the July 16 meeting, you're pre-registered for upcoming meetings. If you're a NYS CDFI Coalition member and you haven't registered, sign up here!

Congratulations to NYS CDFI Coalition Member on 5 Years of B Corp Awards!

From their recent email:

When we became the first bank to headquarter in The Bronx in decades, we came in with one mission: to put our community first. We recognized a long history of financial institutions extracting wealth instead of benefitting the communities they do business in. We were determined to change that narrative. Becoming a B Corp -- the first B Corp bank in New York City -- was a logical step in that journey.

Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.

Every year, the B Corp community recognizes the top-performing B Corps creating the greatest impact through their businesses. These B Corps are named Best for the World.

For us, this award in the Customer and Governance categories recognizes that we work every day to create financial inclusion for all of us.

We are grateful to the B Corp community for this recognition five years in a row and, most of all, to you, our customers, employees, partners, and friends who love New York City just as much as we do. Thank you!

For the Financial Inclusion of New York City,
The Team at spring bank

RSVP for the next
NYS CDFI Investor Club - CDFI Friday, August 6

We're looking forward to the next informational webinar about the NYS CDFI Investor Club with our partner, Impact Finance Center, on Friday, August 6. This event is a little bit different as we welcome the dean of CDFIs (he literally wrote the book on them!) - Cliff Rosenthal. He'll talk about the history and future of CDFIs and our vital role in strengthening communities.

The event will also feature a NYS CDFI in conversation with one of their investors. They'll illustrate how CDFIs are a powerful investment, delivering social impact and financial return! Watch for details next week!

These monthly programs are a great opportunity for our members to highlight the work they're doing in front of an audience of prospective investors - those who watch in real time, as well as those who participate in Impact Finance Center's Impact Investing Institute. The non-profit Institute identifies, trains, and activates individuals and organizations to become impact investors, helping them better align their assets with their values. They are working to move more money to social ventures by creating the infrastructure for a Nationwide Impact Investing Marketplace by 2030 - and NYS CDFI Coalition members are on the list!

Your support of the NYS CDFI Coalition helps us explore new ways of attracting capital to our members, and we're excited about some early interest from investors. We hope you'll
RSVP for our next event on Friday, August 6.

If you have questions,
drop me a line!

Be well,

Colleen M. Ryan
