Colleagues,

In May, we announced our phased plan for returning to the office in our non-24/7 buildings beginning June 1. At that time, we anticipated moving to Phase 2 at 30% maximum capacity the following month but determined we would remain in Phase I at 20% maximum capacity for the month of July. We are happy to announce we will be moving to Phase II at 30% maximum capacity effective Aug. 2.

This decision has no impact on our flex place policy or your current flex place arrangements and is specific to the daily maximum occupancy of our non-24/7 buildings only. Flex place arrangements will continue to be based on the business needs of your individual role and those of the department. Please continue to work with your supervisor to determine if/when and what days/times you should report to work at a non-24/7 CDHS building to ensure on-site staff capacity limits are not exceeded.

We will continue to evaluate and determine the safest plan moving forward regarding our next phases.

Below, you will find guidance pertaining to building access, as well as guidelines while inside buildings. There will be no changes to these guidelines and protocols with our move to Phase II.

This guidance only applies to employees working in non-24/7 settings. Employees who work in 24/7 facilities should continue to follow the specific protocols for those locations.

Please read the following health-screening processes to ensure you are able to access your building without any issues.

Building access

Public-facing CDHS buildings re-opened to the public June 1. The public and other visitors will not be permitted anywhere in a building except the entrances, lobbies or other pre-approved designated spaces. The only exceptions are contracted direct service vendors, delivery entities, necessary emergency personnel or vendors conducting work on the buildings (e.g., maintenance workers).

CDHS will continue to require health screenings prior to building entry at all non-24/7 buildings. This screening can still be completed on a smartphone, notebook or laptop prior to commuting to a building.

Each building group will continue to have their own URL and form, based on the building.

Each building will continue to have the same designees assigned to manage access. The designee will have to confirm that a person has completed the screening prior to entry and has been approved for access.

The following link includes the URL for each building's Health Screening form and identifies each building's designee: Facility Screening Forms.

Please note: The dock entrance at 1575 will remain closed. All employees, vendors, delivery personnel and others must enter the building through the front entrance to maintain the integrity of the health screening.

Building protocols FAQ

Please review the current FAQ document to answer employees' questions about health and safety protocols for CDHS’s non-24/7 buildings. We urge you to read through this document before visiting any of our buildings.

Thank you for your ongoing effort and understanding as we continue to adapt to challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. The science around utilization of masks and transmission of the virus is constantly evolving, and we will continue to adjust our procedures as the science indicates.
