Into the Video Archive
In July we hosted a virtual event with Elizabeth Hinton—Professor of History, African American Studies, and Law at Yale University and author of From the War on Poverty to the War on Crime: The Making of Mass Incarceration in America—for a discussion of her latest book, America on Fire: The Untold History of Police Violence and Black Rebellion Since the 1960s. Reviewing America on Fire for The Washington Post, Ronald S. Sullivan, Jr. wrote, “Not since Angela Davis’s 2003 book, Are Prisons Obsolete?, has a scholar so persuasively challenged our conventional understanding of the criminal legal system.” Check out the video on the HBS Channel, where you can explore our virtual event archive of past events.
