Hi everyone,
Nakayoshi is back! After a year of virtual events, we're back to holding regular in-person social and volunteer events, and it's great to see new and familiar faces and get out and about in Japantown and beyond. We're planning upcoming events in the South and East Bay and gearing up for future volunteer events - there's no shortage of ways to get involved. If you haven't seen us in a while, now is a great time to reconnect!

Save the Date: Nakayoshi Core Retreat
If you want to get involved in the community, build leadership skills, or meet new people in the Bay Area, now is the perfect time to join Nakayoshi Core. In September we'll be having our annual Core Retreat to plan our direction for the next year—and for the first time in a while, we'll be meeting in person (location TBD). Plus, if it's your first Core meeting, lunch is on us!

Leadership Opportunity: Hiking with Nakayoshi!
Love the outdoors? Want to get involved with Nakayoshi? We need your help! We're looking for someone to help plan and organize our fall hike, including choosing a date and location, publicizing the event, and coordinating the day of. You'll be paired with an experienced Core member who will help make sure everything goes smoothly. This event could be anywhere in the Bay Area, but bonus points if you know any good East Bay trails!

Want to get involved in the community and meet new friends? Join our core officer team! We provide opportunities to support various Japantown organizations while helping you build your network and leadership skills.
There are no requirements other than a desire to get involved -- but we especially need help with our bookkeeping and email newsletter, so an interest in finance or digital marketing is a big plus! 47th Annual Nihonmachi Street Fair
This year's NSF will showcase AAPI nonprofit organizations, Asian artisans, children’s arts & crafts. Live music at the Peace Plaza! Also COVID Vaccine Mobile Unit and COVID Testing administered by Virus Geeks. Masks are required and there will be no Food Fest this year - support our Japantown restaurants instead!
