The results of the most recent Aged Care Approvals Round - ACAR 2020 - were announced today.

A surprising 4,098 new residential aged care places were allocated. This is surprising as only 2,000 places were advertised. It is expected that extra places were given out to meet some of the demand shown in applications as there are to be no more ACARs ahead of a full revision of the system from 1 July 2024.
