CURFEW CONFIRMATION MALAGA WHICH MOVES TO ALERT LEVEL 3
The Junta de Andalucía has decided that all six health districts of Malaga province will move to alert level 3, from midnight today (Thursday, 22 July) as a result of the increase in Covid-19 infections.

From Friday there will a tightening of coronavirus control measures in many areas, including Malaga city - that will affect the hospitality, commerce and culture sectors.

Level 3 restrictions mean that in bars and restaurants, there will be a maximum capacity limit of 50 per cent imposed indoors, with a limit of four people per table inside and six on the terraces, and social distancing measures must be complied with.
The allowed capacity in stores and shopping centres will be restricted to 60 per cent, always ensuring a minimum distance of 1.5 metres between people who do not live in the same household.

The number of people who can attend wakes and funerals (10 indoors and 20 outdoors), ceremonies and religious services (50 per cent capacity) and celebrations is also reduced: indoors, a maximum of 50 per cent of the capacity must be respected at tables or groupings of tables and, with a maximum of 100 people in closed spaces. Tables will have a limit of four people indoors. At outdoor celebrations, the maximum attendance allowed will be 250 with six people per table. Musical performances and dancing will not be allowed.

The capacity in cinemas, theatres and auditoriums is reduced to 60 per cent, with a seated audience and social distancing.
Gyms must also reduce their capacity by 50 per cent indoors with a maximum of ten people, while 60 per cent will be allowed outdoors, with a maximum of 15 people.

Nightlife establishments will only be allowed to open indoors if they do not exclusively serve drinks, otherwise they must keep to the measures established for hotel and restaurant establishments at this alert level. Outdoors, nightlife businesses will be able to occupy 50 percent of their terraces with a limit of six people per table. Bar service and consumption and ‘small-format’ performances and dancing will not be allowed.

The measures will take effect from midnight this Thursday (22 July) throughout the province.

CANCELLATION OF CAR INSURANCE POLICES SPANISH PLATES

Many clients have returned to the UK following Brexit and have needed to cancel their insurance policies here.   Please note that we are unable to cancel with any refund unless we receive the actual Provisional Justificante to confirm that the vehicle does not belong to the client anymore.  This is a one page document which can be obtained from a Gestor when the change of ownership is made.    A Compraventa or Bill of Sale is not enough to cancel with a refund.  The Compraventa does not provide an insurer with proof that the vehicle has had a change of ownership.  It is also in the clients best interests to make sure this is done as any fines or accidents whilst the vehicle is still showing as owned by the client would be their responsibility.   Clients should also never sell a vehicle with existing insurance as again any accident or claim would make them liable.   Recently this happened and the previous owner had to deal with a very lengthy and messy claim even though they had sold the car to someone else.

If the Justificante is provided within 14 days of sale, then a refund will be provided from the date of sale, if the Justificante is provided after 14 days, then a refund will only be provided from the date the document is provided.

CANCELLATION OF CAR INSURANCE POLICES UK PLATES

We need a copy of the V5 where it has been signed and dated to show sale in order to cancel a UK plated policy.  If a UK plate has been returned to the UK and UK insurance taken out, we need a copy of the Insurance policy from the UK to cancel the Spanish insurance to enable a refund to be given.

CLAIMS PROCEDURES…

OK I KNOW IT IS MORE THAN ONCE I HAVE INCLUDED THIS INFORMATION BUT HAVING BEEN INUNDATED WITH CLAIMS OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS (CLAIMS GONE MAD…) IT IS REALLY HELPFUL TO BOTH US AND CLIENTS TO FOLLOW THE PROCEDURE.

What do I have to do if I need to make a claim?

In the event of a claim it is imperative that a claim form (DAA) is completed, you MUST also send us a copy of the driving licence for the person who was driving at the time of the accident, if we do not receive this the claim will NOT proceed. If you don´t have one of these please e-mail us and we can forward one to you or you can download it as a PDF under the section “frequently asked questions” directly from our website, www.euinsurancedirect.com.

Also please ensure the claim form is completed clearly and is legible if not this will slow the process.

We understand that at the time of an accident/incident it can be very stressful however in order for us to help you and the claim be successful the form MUST be completed.

On the form there are two columns, one in blue and one in yellow it does not matter which way round it is completed.

The form will ask you to complete your name, address, policy number and registration number then it will ask for the same details of the other people that are involved, without this information we are not able to open a claim. Should you NOT be responsible for the accident it is always a good idea to ensure that the claim form is signed by all parties involved. The form itself must be scanned and e-mailed to us so it is better to retain the top copy and give the other party the bottom copy.   Or take a photo of the top copy so it is legible.

Further to the above and if at all possible take photo´s. If the police attend you will still have to complete a claim form.

Should you need to make a claim for own damages, ie: you reverse into a post or someone damages your vehicle but you don´t have their details the form still MUST be completed.

Please also note that if the form is signed by all parties this is what all insurers will work to so please ensure it is completed clearly and correctly.

The above is still applicable if the accident happens outside of Spain, perhaps even more so.

Should you need the grua please call:

Liberty Seguros : 900.101.369 or if outside Spain +34 934.955.125

CHECK YOUR POLICY AND MAKE SURE THE REGISTRATION NUMBER IS CORRECT

The reason we ask for documents when a new policy is taken out is so that we can check the registration number against the policy set up.   Sometimes a phone call can be distorted and a registration number can be heard incorrectly.

UPDATE ON PHONE NUMBERS, EMAILS ETC.

Make sure you update us with any new telephone numbers, email address etc, we have noticed many clients with different numbers and these need to be updated regularly.

NEWS FOR TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS ETC…

We are always trying to keep updated on travel restrictions and when we can safely offer Travel Insurance again but still the world keeps changing and new rules come into force constantly.  Unfortunately at this time we are not comfortable to offer travel insurance due to current circumstances.

Spain has highest share of fully vaccinated people of world’s large countries
Nearly 26 million individuals are completely immunized against Covid-19, putting the country ahead of the UK, Germany, the US and France

Out of the world’s 50 most populated countries, Spain has the largest share of people who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19. According to the latest comparable data available on the website Ourworldindata, run by Oxford University, Spain overtook the United Kingdom last Thursday in terms of administered second doses. This trend was maintained in Sunday’s figures, which were published on Tuesday in the online repository.

According to the latest Spanish Health Ministry report from Monday, 25.9 million residents, representing 54.7% of the population, are fully vaccinated. This percentage is different from what the Oxford website shows for Spain (55.5%) because the latter institution uses population figures taken from United Nations databases in order to compare countries. Using that metric, last Sunday Canada had fully immunized 55.2% of its population, although this country has since then released its Monday figures, something that Spain will not do until Tuesday afternoon. And the United Kingdom had fully vaccinated 54.9% of its population.
