Basil plants on a table

Last weekend for 35% off plants!

There’s still time to add lettuce, basil, peppers and more to your garden and containers — our 35% food plant sale ends Sunday at 5 p.m.

Eggplants have arrived!

From the portly purple fruit we all grew up with to less-familiar white, pink, Asian, round and petite varieties, Morning Glory has eggplants in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors. The round ones are an Italian heirloom called Prosperosa, traditionally used for parmigiana.

Farm chef Gus Paquette-Whall roasts basic eggplants to whip up his baba ganoush, a Middle Eastern appetizer we have been enjoying at the farm so much that we asked him if we might share the recipe with you. Pared to 1/9 the size he makes for the farmstand, it’s posted on our website at morninggloryfarm.com/eggplant-recipe-chef-guss-baba-ganoush/.

If you’d like to see what Chef Gus and the bakery have in store for you on any given day, visit our Daily Menu page for a list of pies, soups, breads, treats and more. It’s worth bookmarking!

Corn, corn, corn!

Sweetness. Temptress. … Harris 1001. The names of corn varieties can be appealing or dull, but each strain is different. Temptress, for instance, has a tapered tip that helps discourage unwelcome pests. Some varieties are best suited to hot weather, others don’t mind shorter late-season days, and so on.

Throughout the sweet corn season, you’ll see many different varieties that we have planted in order to provide you with a consistent supply of high-quality ears, week to week and month to month.

Come see what we are harvesting lately, and check out our list of the best recipes for sweet corn!

Jobs are also in season
