MAC: July 2021 update
Exhibitions to visit now
Wish You Were Here
On now for approx 6 weeks
The Stone Jetty Cafe
10 am - 4 pm, Tuesdays - Sundays
Evening Opening  Event: 6 - 8 pm, Thursday 29th July
Our Post Card exhibition has now moved from More Music to the Stone Jetty. We're unable to show all the entries at the Stone Jetty, but have tried hard to include at least one from everyone who entered. Entrants ranged from high school students to professional artists - with plenty of variety in the media used. We asked 15 local people to select their favourites and these have been printed as post cards - these are now available from The Stone Jetty, Beach Bird, Bayside Emporium, White Elephant Gallery and also at Arteria in Lancaster

Join us at the evening opening event on Thursday 29th July (6 - 8 pm) with live music provided by Pete Moser.

All entries are still availble to view on the MAC website. Images shown above: left by Ginny Koppenhol; right Johnny Bean.

Your last chance to see this
(or any other exhibition at White Elephant Gallery)
Paintings by Nik Grimshaw. June 17th - July 24th. Open Thursday - Saturday, 10 am - 4 pm.
Morecambe has been privileged  to be the home of the White Elephant Gallery for the past 2 or 3 years (firstly in the Arndale Centre and more recently in Euston Road). You can walk into the current exhibition and imagine yourself in a prestigious gallery in any large city. The exhibitions may not always have been to everyone's taste - but they have, without exception, been exciting and adventourous. It's a sad day for the town that the gallery will be open for the last time on Saturday with tea and art (tart for short) between 1 and 4 pm ...
... but we hear that although the gallery space may be closing, the team behind White Elephant have other things planned!

Shane Johnstone restoring mural on Morecambe Bay Arndale
MAC member Shane Johnstone "touching up" the mural on the side of Arndale Morecambe Bay. The original mural was designed and painted by Steve Carne in 2014/15, commissioned by Deco Publique and funded by the Mary Portas High Street Review. Additional work was carried out by Shane in 2016. The current rstoration by Shane is being funded by the Arndale Centre.

Time and Tide Bell

Join Pete Moser as he plays the Morecambe Bay Time & Tide Bell. Some of the highest tides of upcoming months are in the very early hours of the morning, so Pete has chosen the nearest daytime time for the monthly bell ringing:

July 25th at 1:08 pm
Aug 23rd at 12:54 am
With the new clapper working, last month Pete was able to play the bell along with the tide - watch the video on YouTube.
