FAIRVIEW COLUMNS
Fairview Family, I gave the columns a rest last week, but we are back with important announcements and events listed below. Two items to keep in mind for this Sunday: firstly that we will have the Lord's Supper during our worship service. In accordance with scripture let us take time this week to examine ourselves and for the consideration of Christ and His Church (1 Corinthians 11). Secondly, you'll note that we have begun a new sermon series on the life of Jacob. Make sure you're here each Sunday as we examine his life and how it points to Jesus, the promised redeemer.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Here's who is signed up to serve in the 11 a.m. nursery.

We need the entire church's help with nursery. Would you like to sign up? Click here. You may also sign up on the whiteboard along the hallway of the children's wing of the sanctuary.

Remember we have Sunday School for all ages at 10 a.m. Below are the classes:

Nursery: Anna Bryant
Ages 3-6: Lynn McCarter (Children's Church Room - Sanctuary)
7-9: Lisa Miller (Family Life Center Classroom)
10-13: Ann Spaar (Family Life Center Classroom)
Teenagers: Jonathan Williams (Family Life Center Classroom)
Young Adults: Kenny Maple
Covenant Class: Tom Sevcik

We are in need of another children's Sunday School teacher and a few assistant teachers. Email me to help.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

CHILDREN'S VOLUNTEER RESCREEN
According to our childcare protection policy, all teachers and volunteers in our children's ministry must be retrained every two years. If it has been two years for you, this week you will have received in your inbox an email about completing the training once again. Several of you have already done this and thank you! You'll notice as you complete this training that the videos are much better than they used to be, and the training goes quickly. Questions? Email Kenny Maple or speak with Lynn McCarter.

PRAYER MEETING
Wed., July 28, 5:45-6:15 p.m.
Join us each Wednesday for prayer. We will continue this meeting time throughout July and August. Table Talk, our Wednesday night gathering for dinner, teaching, and prayer, will resume on September 1.

PROMOTION SUNDAY
Sun., Aug. 1
Our children are gearing up for school again, and so we continue our practice of promoting children in their Sunday School classes. We will recognize our children and their teachers at the beginning of the service on August 1. If you have any questions about the class for your child, please email Kenny.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL/ TALENT SHOW
Sun., August 1, 5 p.m.
Sign up sheets for food are located on the table in the back of the sanctuary. Come on out for this WIC sponsored time of fellowship!

BABY SHOWER
Sat., August 7, 9:30 a.m., FLC
Amy and Andrew La Croix are anticipating the arrival of a baby girl! Help them prepare with this upcoming baby shower. They are registered at babylist.com.

BACKPACK BLESSINGS
Return by Aug. 15
Once again we will be filling backpacks for some of the children at Fork Shoals Elementary. Soon you will see 24 backpacks on the front pew of the sanctuary. Pick one up soon along with a list of items and fill it to bless the children of our community.

Please pray that Karolina Stamey (Val's great niece) is able to return to school. Also pray for Scipio Peden who is having raditation for cancer, Bee and Mercedes' sons (Ross with brain cancer and Steve with a broken foot), those who have recently lost loved ones, the caregivers in our church family, and for the physical and spiritual health of the church.

I hope some of you have been able to find our Fairview Family Worship Guide to be helpful at home. I've edited it to correct some errors in our initial printing. You can find that updated edition here, and I hope you will utilize it! Additionally, I'll be printing some more copies. You may pick up those soon at the back of the church.
