Weekly Lane Closure Advisory for the Transform 285/400 Project 

WHAT: Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation construction partners will close lanes on I-285 eastbound and westbound and SR 400 northbound and southbound for activities to include roadway, noise barrier and bridge construction. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds and detours in some areas.

Tuesday, July 20, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

General Lane Closures & Traffic Pacings
  • Traffic pacing on SR 400 northbound from Lenox Road to Hammond Drive
  • Two left lanes on SR 400 northbound from Johnson Ferry Road to Hammond Drive
  • One right lane on SR 400 southbound from Abernathy Road to Hammond Drive
  • One right lane on Abernathy Road westbound from SR 400 to Glenlake Parkway
  • One right lane on Abernathy Road eastbound from Barfield Road to SR 400
Closure and Detour

I-285 eastbound to SR 400 northbound (map)
  • Motorists on I-285 eastbound should take SR 400 southbound exit then exit at Glenridge Connector (Exit 3). Motorists should turn right off the ramp, then turn right to access SR 400 northbound.
 
I-285 westbound to SR 400 southbound (
map)
  • Motorists on I-285 westbound should continue and exit at Roswell Road Sandy Springs (Exit 25). Motorists will then be directed to I-285 eastbound. Motorists should then take the I-285 eastbound exit to SR 400 southbound.
 
SR 400 northbound to Abernathy Road

  • Motorists on SR 400 northbound to Abernathy Road should continue on SR 400 northbound before exiting at Northridge Road (Exit 6). Motorists should turn right on to Northridge Road before turning left on to the SR 400 southbound ramp. Motorists should continue on SR 400 southbound to before exiting at Abernathy Road (Exit 5).

Wednesday, July 21, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Traffic pacing on SR 400 northbound from Lenox Road to Abernathy Road

  • One right lane on SR 400 southbound from MARTA North Springs Station to Mount Vernon Highway
  • One right lane on Abernathy Road westbound from SR 400 to Glenlake Parkway
  • One right lane on Glenlake Parkway southbound to Abernathy Road

  • Motorists on I-285 westbound should continue and exit at Roswell Road Sandy Springs (Exit 25). Motorists will then be directed to I-285 eastbound. Motorists should then take the I-285 eastbound exit to SR 400 southbound.
 
SR 400 southbound to I-285 westbound

  • Motorists on SR 400 southbound should exit at Glenridge Connector (Exit 3), then exit to SR 400 northbound. Motorists should continue on SR 400 northbound, then exit at I-285 westbound (Exit 4B).
 
SR 400 northbound to I-285 eastbound

  • Motorists on SR 400 northbound to I-285 eastbound should continue on SR 400 northbound and take the exit at I-285 westbound (Exit 4B). Motorists should continue on I-285 to Roswell Road (Exit 25). Motorists should turn left from Roswell Road to I-285 eastbound.

SR 400 to Abernathy Road eastbound and westbound (map)
  • Motorists on SR 400 northbound to Abernathy Road westbound should exit at Abernathy Road (Exit 5). Motorists should turn right at Abernathy Road eastbound and right at Peachtree Dunwoody Road. Motorists should turn right at Mount Vernon Highway before turning right at Mercedes Benz Drive/Barfield Road. Motorists should turn left at Abernathy Road westbound.
  • Motorists on SR 400 southbound to Abernathy Road eastbound should exit Abernathy Road (Exit 5) and turn right off the exit ramp at Abernathy Road westbound. Motorists should and turn left at Mercedes Benz Drive/Barfield Road and turn left at Mount Vernon Highway and continue to access Abernathy Road eastbound.
  • Motorists on Perimeter Center Parkway/Abernathy Road westbound should turn left at Mount Vernon Highway and turn right at Barfield Road/ Mercedes Benz Drive. Motorists should continue on Mercedes Benz Drive before turning left at Abernathy Road westbound.
  • Motorists on Abernathy Road eastbound should turn right at Mercedes Benz Drive/Barfield Road before turning left at Mount Vernon Highway. Motorists should continue on Mount Vernon Highway to access Abernathy Road eastbound.

Friday, July 23, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Motorists on Abernathy Road eastbound should turn right at Mercedes Benz Drive/Barfield Road before turning left at Mount Vernon Highway. Motorists should continue on Mount Vernon Highway to access Abernathy Road eastbound.
