Highlights
This month has seen further changes to the Fight Food Waste Ltd team! The TRANSFORM team is transforming, and at the end of this month we will say farewell to Meagan Wheeler as our TRANSFORM Deputy Program Leader, ironically returning to work for our former Program Leader, A/Prof Bronwyn Laycock. We thank Meagan for her passion, experience and commitment that she has brought to this role, and we wish her great success in her future endeavours. Applications are now open for the Transform Deputy Program Leader position.

We would also like to give a big welcome to Jessica Morgan, who started with us this week as our TRANSFORM Program Coordinator. Jessica is passionate about supporting organisations at the forefront of developing innovative solutions to waste and environmental issues. We are excited to bring her experience to the TRANSFORM Program team.

Stop Food Waste Australia has also commenced advertising for a Technical Specialist position to manage the development and delivery of Australian Food Pact signatories’ food waste action plans, with a particular focus on manufacturing and food processing industry signatories.

This fortnight we have also had an exciting update from the Victorian Government’s Circular Economy Business Innovation Centre (CEBIC)!  The first round of successful projects were officially announced on 15th July and twelve of the twenty three projects are food-waste based. Fight Food Waste Ltd, through Stop Food Waste Australia, will partner with Australian Dairy Products Federation and Dairy Manufacturers Sustainability Council on a Dairy Australia project that will create Australia's first food waste Sector Action Plan for our dairy sector.

For those readers that like listening to podcasts the Fight Food Waste team have been involved in a couple that were released this week:
Dr Steven Lapidge joined "Let's Talk Farm to Fork" with the Postharvest Foundation
Dr Simon Lockrey and Steven Lapidge talk food waste mitigation on the CPG Innovation Podcast for core participant Empauer, a Selerant company.
Finally, it was pleasing to see that the media release listed in our last newsletter regarding our latest household food waste findings went on to generate over 10 major articles and 3 radio interviews over the last two weeks.

Partner News
The War Against Waste
We are always thrilled when our research partners get as excited as we do about food waste, so it’s brilliant to share this two-page spread from CQUniversity’s Be Magazine. This is the University’s twice yearly publication, talking about the food waste issue and highlighting CQUniversity’s FFW CRC Future Leaders Program students.
Circular Economy Hackathon
This February, three of our Fight Food Waste CRC students teamed up to compete in the I-ACE Hackathon. Team Food Waste Fighters were Esther Landells, Trang Nguyen and Roanna Jones.  The India Australia Circular Economy Hackathon brought together students, startups and SMEs from India and Australia to compete in a three day, online challenge. All teams had an innovative idea to reduce and manage waste more effectively and support a circular economy.
