I've been at it again!

This time the nautical by name, nautical by nature By The Seaside has received a close-up from my video camera. As a valued GOLD member, their showcase video comes to them on a complimentary basis ready for distribution on every channel imaginable.

What a week it has been for Blackpool. Talk about fun in the sun! Such is the pulling power of the resort that even though the Rangers match didn't take place, there was hardly a room cancellation in sight from their fans who decided to make the most of the good weather in our part of the world regardless.

The World Matchplay darts tournament is well underway at the Winter Gardens, with Sky Sports beaming our beautiful Empress Ballroom to many millions every evening until Sunday.

We also certainly started the week off in style publicity wise with Good Morning Britain showing The Blackpool Tower Ballroom on Monday following its £1.1 million makeover, leading to presenter Susanna Reid reminiscing about her time there and Ben Shephard pulling Charlotte Hawkins leg about not making it to the Blackpool stage of the competition. Elsewhere this week the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show was live from Blackpool and after an upbeat montage on the resort on BBC North West Tonight Roger Johnson commented that there's "nowhere better" than Blackpool when the sun's out.

The final word this week though is left to my Uncle Neil, who after driving back from Cleveleys on Sunday along the Promenade summed up what he saw with the following words:

"It's like the good old days"
