Christians in a Cancel Culture face extreme pressure to conform

Orange, California – “I felt like I was in a cult and I was drinking the Kool-Aid,” she observed after leaving. There is growing pressure, not just for acceptance of moral differences, but converting to them and adopting them. The pressure to conform to “woke” culture has never been greater.
An exemplary Starbucks store manager, Amanda Wannagat, is the latest casualty in cancel culture. She faced relentless efforts by Starbucks to convert employee’s thinking about racism, sexuality, and gender, followed by verbal abuse and bullying she endured when objecting. “The company’s ‘anti-racist’ indoctrination led to a choice between my morals, my values, my beliefs or my job,” says Wannagat.
Author, Joe Dallas is the author of Christians in a Cancel Culture, an ex-gay who says this is just the tip of the iceberg and people of faith better preparing themselves for what’s ahead. “The culture is embracing a new world vision, but we haven’t. So we’re charged with refusal to bend.” This is becoming all too common with corporate giants forcing employees to endure indoctrination that runs counter to their personal beliefs.
Dallas says Bible-believing Christians can and must stand up of we will be gobbled up by the cancel culture. “The fear of controversy, though understandable, is no excuse for evasion when truth is called for.” The question, according to Dallas, is how we how we stand in the midst of the onslaught from companies like Starbucks, REI (Recreational Equipment), Target, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, Amazon, Wells Fargo, Delta, and countless others.
“If you breathe, you believe; if you believe, you express” says Dallas. “But our cultural landscape is becoming less reasonable and more risky because this is the age of the Tantrum, not the Adult.” There will be costs as Christians take a stand against ideology and beliefs of the cancel culture, just as Wannagat faced the ultimatum. Dallas says, “It may come as a notice of suspension on Facebook, a broken relationship, a lawsuit, a firing, cancelled contracts, or loss of credentials.” The solution, says Dallas, “Truth first; niceness second. Winsomeness is fine, but never the main goal.”
