AACVC's Latrobe Valley Challenge

August 7th and 8th 2021.

"Following the success of the Leongatha aerobatic challenge earlier in the year, this two-day event will give members the opportunity to practice in the competition environment without the pressure of an actual competition. All members will have access to our experienced member base with expert critiquing and coaching.

This is a fantastic opportunity for new members to come along and try out competition flying as well as get to know our members in a relaxed and social setting.

The entry fee for the event is $75.00 per participating pilot for the full weekend or $50.00 if you only plan on coming one day. It is also free for all other members, pilots, family and friends. Hangarage will be available for a small overnight fee (TBC). There are several motels within walking distance of the terminal so please have a look online and book in advance if you plan to stay for the full weekend.

Payment is only required at the event (in case the event is cancelled due to weather) so please bring payment with you. Fuel is available at the airport with credit card facilities. We recommend you bring your own oil.

News and Rumours

Hopefully the Victorian lockdown will end soon and we can get back to flying the Aerobat and Super Decathlon.

Don't forget the AACVC's dinner on Saturday the 31st of July at Theodora Bar and Grill in South Melbourne at 6:30pm. All welcome, subject to seats remaining check with president@aacvc.com.au There will be plenty of aerobatics to talk about. I hope to see you there!

There will be an important award presented soon - stay tuned.
Experts are saying that NSW's lockdown will continue until the end of September so doesn't sound promising for the National Championships.

Aerobatic Contests

The National Championships at Watts Bridge in Qld have just been postponed to 21-26 September 2021. A decision date for the championships has been set for 10 August 2021 which is not far off.

I still plan to take the Super Decathlon VH-UPG and it will be available for pilots to compete up to Sportsman category.

Winter in Melbourne can have some great weather for aerobatics so, especially for those competing at the Nationals, hope for some sunny days after the lockdown and August.
