Lifting of Covid Restrictions
We start worshipping as one congregation again on Sunday July 25th.
In view of the current high infection rate, we ask that members of the congregation continue to wear a mask during the services, as a courtesy to each other. We will not have congregational singing and as a further precaution, we will not be serving tea and coffee after the service at the moment.
In the Link Café, we will continue with table service, and request that people wear a facemask when moving around.
These issues will be reviewed regularly by the trustees.

Last Call for JMA Donations!
Susan Robinson has asked that all donations be sent directly to the church bank account, marked as JMA, or by cheque to Sharron Arnold (cheque made payable to The Eldwick Church with a note to say what it is for) rather than giving her cash from your collection boxes. It is increasingly difficult to get banks to accept coins. Please make any donations by 31 July as Sharron will be transferring the money in early August. Thank you.

Gala - Saturday 14th August
We are running a Church Café inside and on the lawn on Gala day between 12.00 noon & 4.00 pm. There will be bacon butties for sale between 11.00 am and 12.00 noon - take away only.
Thank you to everyone who has kindly signed up to either bake or help in anyway on the day. If you still haven’t signed up and want to help on this lovely busy, fun day please have a look at the rota or give Julie a call. No slot left, no problem contact Julie and she will help you find a job you feel happy to do.

The Farewell Service for the Airedale Circuit Ministers retiring or moving on in August will be held in Jackson's Field, Silsden on Sunday 1 August. Here are the instructions for those who wish to attend:
From 2.30 pm: Arrive at Jackson’s Field, the field just over the river as you come into Silsden. Parking is available on the road and in the field itself.
3.00 pm Worship Service led by Rev Kerry Tankard, District Chair.
Bring your own food, suitable clothing and seats. Gazebos, wind shields etc also welcome if you put them up yourselves. Should you bring them please set up around the edge of the field so as not to obstruct the view of the ‘stage’ area.

The Church In The Garden Project
For those of you who have had a peek in at the plot you will have seen the garden area has been cleared of the worst of the rubble, brambles and rogue saplings. Two raised beds are now built and lined, with the first bed planed up with a variety of vegetables and flowers. The second bed awaits finishing, with the soil and lots of plants waiting to be planted. Work has started on the sensory border which will be situated by the fence which divides the car park from the garden.
There is now lots of gardening to be done, mainly digging and preparing the area for planting now and in the autumn when we hope to get the trees and shrubs in. We are putting a box inside the garden (by the garden gate). Inside, there will be a book advising of jobs to be done, so if you want to drop in & just do a bit of gardening you can see what needs doing. (It's not there yet, but will be in the next week).
Current outstanding tasks include stripping the ivy off the tree; removing bindweed from the roses on the privacy fence & digging the sensory garden border- which is very rubbly and needs digging a few times. In addition, we really could do with some waterers. If you feel you could adopt one day a week to go down and water the beds or any new plants when it is hot, that would be very much appreciated. We will fill the water butt up and leave a watering can at the side.
We are hoping to set up some gardening sessions for folk who might want to enjoy a bit of company. Let Julie know if you are interested in any of the above.
Thank you to the generous donations of money and plants it is very much appreciated and needed to make this project move on. If anyone has a water butt / watering cans or garden canes they don’t want, please get in touch.
We will be holding a plant stall on the lawn on gala day to promote the garden and raise funds. If you have any plants we can sell please can you let Julie know. Thank you, Julie.

The Mission Giving Group has met and decided to make the following donations from our mission budget:
- £300 to Bingley Community Kitchen
- £300 to Christian African Relief Trust ("CART")
- £300 to Kathryn Mercy Home the charity which we support through regular donations which supports both young girls and old ladies in India
- £300 to The Cellar Trust a mental health charity based in Shipley
We are keeping a further £300 back in case there is an emergency appeal later in the year. We (Rowena, Dorothy, Carleen and Sharron) also expect to meet before December to decide on any additional contributions we are able to make once we know how much our final budget for 2021 will be. If you would like a specific charity to be considered then, please let us know.

Holy Communion has now resumed
We are gradually returning to regular communion services as part of our worship, being mindful of safe practices. This has been agreed by the trustees.
Providing government restrictions do not prevent it, the plan is as follows:
1st August 9.15 Informal communion service
5th September 9.15 Informal communion service
19th September 10.30 Family communion
3rd October 9.15 Informal communion service
17th October 10.30 Family communion
These will be alternately led by Methodist and Anglican ministers. (We do not plan to use the BCP Anglican communion service at the moment, rather we will use a more up to date and accessible form of service).
