DUT RANKED IN THE TOP 100 IN ETHICAL VALUE AND TOP 300 BY THE WORLD’S UNIVERSITIES WITH REAL IMPACT (WURI) INTERNATIONAL RANKINGS
Another international achievement is in the bag for the Durban University of Technology (DUT) after it was globally ranked in the Top 100 for Ethical Value and in the Top 300 of all institutions of higher learning, in the World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) 2021 rankings.
The international rankings were recently announced by the founding Director of the WURI rankings, Professor Hwy Chang Moon, Professor Emeritus, Seoul National University in South Korea. Nondumiso Shabangu, a PhD: Health Sciences student at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) is all smiles after hearing of her nomination in the 2021 Junior Chamber International (JCI) Ten Outstanding Young Persons of South Africa (JCISA TOYP) Top 21 Awards.

SEWLAL RELEASES BOOK CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF THE MEDIA INDUSTRY ON MANDELA DAY
A humble idea to celebrate 25 years of the media industry resulted in the release of Durban University of Technology’s (DUT’s) Robin Sewlal’s book titled: Reflections of the South African Media: 1994-2019. The book was released on Mandela Day which is celebrated on 18 July every year.
Sewlal is an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa and Associate Director at DUT Journalism. He is the Legal Representative of the Institutional Research Ethics Committee (IREC), chairs the Senate Rules Committee, and serves on various other forums at the university.
DUT DRAMA PRODUCTION STUDIES ALUMNI CONTINUES REACHING FOR THE STARS THROUGH MUSIC
Xolani Khowa is excited to reaching out to people on a larger scale with his music. Khowa is no stranger in the entertainment industry. The Durban University of Technology (DUT) community will remember him for his fun and engaging performances on campus grounds back when he was an undergraduate student.
The 26-year-old Margate born artist and educator graduated with his Drama and Production Studies Diploma from DUT in May 2018.
Khowa has recently released a brand new pop hit single titled Inkomo in collaboration with Musiholiq and Sazified.
