The new Apex Data Hub and App are available!
The Apex Data Hub now features web-based access and allows Just Health and other surveys to be sent via text or email to personal devices. The Apex Data App administers Just Health and other surveys on clinic iPads, and is ready for download on the App Store. A user's Apex Data App account is the same whether accessed on the web or iPad. Sites should have received new login credentials for the Hub from Apex Support, but if you missed the email or need a reset, please contact Apex.

Apex is here to support sites with training resources: All users are encouraged to review the user guides and attend training.

Apex is excited for sites to use the new tools and can’t wait to hear from you! Please contact Apex with your feedback and questions.

The following forms can be accessed in the Hub:
  • The standard "CDPHE Quarter Reports" version 287.
  • "Supplemental Quarter 4 Progress Report Questions - COVID-19 pandemic" version 9.
  • If applicable, "Supplemental Quarter 4 Progress Report Questions - LARC Funding" version 13. Please note, the LARC Funding reporting questions are site-specific. If your organization operates multiple SBHCs, you will need to complete a form for each site.
The Quarter 4 Progress Reporting is due by the last business day in July (July 30, 2021).

FY22 Invoice Templates:
The program sent out FY22 SBHC Program invoice template(s) for your July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022 monthly reimbursement requests. For those that budgeted repeat line items under Personal Services, the repeat line items on the Reimbursement Invoice Template have been removed. For FY21-22 invoices, we ask that you add up any repeat line items prior to submitting (e.g., If you budgeted five lines for "Health Educator'' under Personal Services, you will now be asked to condense into one "Health Educator" line.) For questions, please email cdphe_sbhcprogram@state.co.us

Co-Occurring Disorders - web-based online training series
The importance of identifying and addressing mental health issues in a substance use disorder treatment setting is essential to improving the overall outcomes for patients/clients. Initiating early detection and intervention for those that have a co-occurring disorder is crucial and we now know that treatment works best if we are addressing both the substance use AND the mental health disorder during the treatment process. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the most effective dual diagnosis regimen treats both the mental illness and substance issues at the same time. This free online learning series will provide 15 hours of instruction and will include blended activities of virtual online groups and self-study related to understanding and integrating Mental Health Disorder knowledge into the provision of Substance Use Disorder treatment. This will include interactive discussions, videos, performance based feedback, articles, and activities. Email any questions to workwise@casts.org

Spread the Word: Expanded Tax Credits for Colorado Families
CDPHE created this toolkit for anyone to use to spread the word that expanded tax credits can help lift up to 40% of Colorado families out of poverty. The toolkit contains English and Spanish language messages, a flyer for distribution in physical settings, and sample newsletter and text message content.

Through a recent expansion of the Child Tax Credit (CTC) and Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, more Colorado families are eligible. Starting in July, families can receive up to $300 a month for every child ages 0-5 and $250 a month for every child ages 6-17 living in their household. Families need to sign up with the IRS to receive this cash-back refund, but do not need earnings to qualify. Households making less than $75,000 for individuals and $150,000 for married couples will receive the full credit while those making above those thresholds will receive reduced amounts. Learn more about the expanded CTC and EITC, including the new IRS portal for non-filers.

Please spread the word at your SBHC to inform those who could benefit from these new cash-back resources!

A Message from the Colorado Young Drivers Alliance
The Colorado Young Drivers Alliance is working to educate teens and their parents about the importance of the Graduated Driver’s License (GDL) laws in Colorado and how it saves lives. The Alliance is a coalition of state and local agencies, non-profits, and private-sector partners working together to reduce teen motor vehicle crashes and improve teen motor vehicle safety.

GDL laws help teenagers gain important driving skills gradually while limiting dangers by restricting the number of passengers, banning cell phone use and setting a curfew. GDL laws have helped reduce fatalities among Colorado teen drivers and passengers since they were strengthened in 2005. In spite of this we still had 17 Colorado teens die in crashes in 2019 with many more who sustained serious injury, as many are unaware these laws exist. As school based health centers have been identified as a vital resource to educate teens and parents on this issue, we have created a flyer to guide you in this conversation. The guide is intended to help answer common questions that teens and their families have about GDL. The QR code will take individuals to the GDL toolkit website for additional resources, and to directly access the flyer and its related links. If you are interested in receiving a digital copy of the flyer or have any questions, please reach out to Laurie Lovedale at laurie.lovedale@uchealth.org or 720-848-5165.
