Announcing the Bethesda Green Innovation Lab Financial Awards

Bethesda Green announced today that it has awarded $10,000 financial awards each to four mission-aligned companies that participated in its 2021 Innovation Lab Accelerator. These companies are led by sustainability and impact-driven entrepreneurs who are ready to tackle the challenges ahead. Their business models seek to address gaps in the marketplace to manage food waste at scale, eliminate plastic waste from carry out containers, and provide healthy and impactful food and beverage options. Find out who the four awardees are in the press release.

Join Our Weed Warriors!

Bethesda Green launched its Weed Warriors project in partnership with Bethesda Urban Partnership last weekend. Together, two teams of volunteers set off through Bethesda pulling weeds from tree boxes and sidewalk crevices to beautify the neighborhood and rid us of invasive weeds -- without chemicals. Even bamboo was no match for these intrepid and dedicated weed warriors. We're staying on the case and hopefully expanding our reach. Please join us in August and beyond to be part of the team. Pollinator Garden at Landon Lane

The Bethesda Green team recently visited Environmental Leader Emily Wu's pollinator garden on Landon Lane in Bethesda! This summer, Be Green Living intern Oran Lichtman has been taking inventory of all the species in the garden and keeping picture logs of each plant to see how the garden grows over the summer. We are using water collected by our newly installed rain barrel and are currently looking at ways to improve our water collection system.
