Public Invited to Annual Ice Cream Social at Former Governors’ Mansion
BISMARCK, N.D. – The annual Ice Cream Social, a free family program of music, history, and refreshments, will be held Sunday, Aug. 8, from noon to 2:30 p.m. at the Former Governors’ Mansion State Historic Site, 320 East Ave. B, Bismarck. Free hot dogs and ice cream will be available.
The afternoon history program will include a performance by Bismarck musician Colleen Reinhardt. The late Dr. Herb Wilson, longtime board member of the Society for the Preservation of the Former Governors' Mansion, will be honored during the program.
Seating will be available, but the public is welcome to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. This event is sponsored by the State Historical Society of North Dakota and the Society for the Preservation of the Former Governors’ Mansion.
The Former Governors’ Mansion is a state historic site managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Summer hours are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday, noon-4 p.m. For more information about the Former Governors’ Mansion, contact 701.328.9528.
