She was born October 25, 1925, in Middletown, KY and named after her Aunt Lola and Aunt Henrietta. She graduated from Anchorage High School in 1943 and the Kentucky Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1946.  She was a member of Anchorage Presbyterian and Grace Evangelical Free Churches where she sang in their choirs, Middletown Woman’s Club, and Jefferson County Medical Society Alliance. She taught Sunday school at Anchorage Presbyterian Church for 20 years and was a volunteer at Central State Hospital.

Loetta was a 1983 recipient of the Bell and Jefferson Awards for which she was honored for several fields of service including Meals on Wheels, KY Correctional Institute for Women, and as a volunteer with over 4,000 hours of service on the Oncology Unit of Baptist East Hospital. In 1988 she received the Salvation Army Medical Fellowship Member of the Year award and in 2010 she was awarded the Volunteer of the Year for services at the Northeast YMCA.

Loetta loved singing, playing the piano, working in her flower garden and chocolate.  After Hoppy’s retirement, the couple enjoyed traveling, spending time at their Nolin Lake cabin and performing dulcimer music and singing to groups in the Louisville area.
