Main Club League news
It seems so long since we had a regular series of events that you may have forgotten about the various club leagues that we run. The Main Club League has recently been updated
here as it has been decided it should run over two years in this Covid changed season. The Coasts and Islands event and the 6 Days will be included and Eddie has added on a list of other included events for the remainder of the year on the third page of the table. If you would like a refresher on the rules you can read them
here.
Next Events
Remember to keep 2ist August free for our club championships and AGM at Burghead. This is usually tailored to your experience and running speed so that we can have a head to head competition for the titles of Club Champions. Keep your eye on
this page for further details.
MTB Foll-O news from Steve and the Foll-O up.
The MTB Foll-O was great fun and I hope it was a successful format that we can repeat. Maybe my details are a little subtle and misleading but it actually turned out more or less as I had hoped. Penelope described the mass start as like the Keiren as they followed my E-MTB. A fast pace to the first 2 controls led to the field spreading out and we came into the controls from different directions.
I soon pulled away and left the riders behind navigating their way around 12 controls and 12km course. I made it back in 46 minutes well ahead of the others. They took different routes and some got lost.
There were a few teething problems. I probably have enough of a lead to put out tape at the control points so will try this next time. The slowest rider can collect them in. In the Autumn we can do this with reflectors. Next time the finish will be in the car park as some went straight there. Someone thought there was a time limit so finished just behind me after leaving some controls out.
I hope to do this again after the 6 day. So look out for a mass start MTBO race disguised as a Foll-O at Sanquhar in August.
