17th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Issue 60

Hello <<First Name>>,

Isn't it great when things stretch.... ? (apart from those Covid curves around the waistline!)

Stretching what we have to hand will often produce a result we do not expect - whether that is

  • stretching what we have to eat so to include another,
  • stretching our time to listen so to be really present and engage,
  • stretching our talents and skills so that others are not stretched beyond belief....

What small act of generosity by you this week will feed others in a spiritual, emotional or physical way. Waste not the opportunity.

Stay Connected with what matters.
Pass this newsletter onto a friend (or stranger!) and encourage others to sign up
here so they too can be connected.

Check out the Greystones Parish and Kilquade Parish websites during the week for information too.

FAITH GATHERINGS

17th Sunday in Ordinary Time
The multiplication of the loaves generates many levels of meaning, often deeply spiritual.
At a more ordinary level, we see an anonymous boy with the bread and fish making available what little he had for the Lord to make use of them. Placing ourselves at his disposal, offering whatever gifts we have is all that is asked of each of us.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, we know that you see potential where we see limits. All we have and are is your gift in the first place. Help us to place ourselves and your gifts at your disposal for the service of the Kingdom.. Amen.
(adapted from reflections on the Gospel by Kieran O’Mahony OSA, www.tarsus.ie )
Tune in to the streaming service before 11:30am Mass to hear the welcome.
The Scripture readings are available daily and for Sunday.

An update from Fr. William Stuart
Fr. William will be visiting and speaking at the 11.30am streamed Mass from St. Anthony's Kilcoole, on Sunday 25th July.

View it live here or catch up at a later stage on the Kilquade Parish Live Stream YouTube channel here.

We thank everyone for their cooperation
The obligation to attend Mass on a Sunday is still suspended.
We encourage you to attend Mass during the week if you are in a position to do this,  so to make space available for those who can only attend at the weekend.

We do appreciate that this is frustrating. However, the booking system (whether online or by phone) is the fairest way to manage the situation we find ourselves in.
We thank everyone for their cooperation on this.
All Masses
Booking is essential to attend mass during the week and at the weekend. When the maximum of 50 people is reached, no one else can be permitted entry, due to current Covid-19 restrictions.
We suggest you arrive a little earlier than usual for Mass so you can avail of your booking. If you are booked in and arrive late, your place may have been offered to someone awaiting entry.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation
is available on an individual basis each Saturday between 3pm to 3.50pm. Booking is essential and is available up to noon on a Saturday.
We ask your cooperation with this and ask people not to present without prior booking.

Thank you.
To support you, your neighbours, your family there is a booking number which may be called 089 275 1664 between 11am and 1pm Monday to Friday only, where  you can speak with someone who will be happy to help.
Bookings are also available through the websites. Click images above.
