Acme Connector Trail Close Out Celebration Tomorrow!

The fundraising campaign to get the Acme Connector on the ground is over 2/3 of the way towards meeting the goal of $75,000! Through July, every gift from private donors towards the Acme Connector campaign will be matched 1:1 up to $75,000 thanks to a challenge match provided by the Oleson Foundation, Tri-County Bicycle Association--DALMAC Fund, and Aspire North Realtors.® Project partners are hosting a public celebration for the early success of the campaign on Tuesday July 27 from 4-6 PM at Stone Hound Brewing Company on Bunker Hill Rd. in Acme Township. RSVP's not required but certainly appreciated. 
 
The community is invited to join TART Trails and Top of Michigan Trails and share in the excitement as the public fundraising heads into its last few days. The campaign officially wraps up on July 31 and all donations will help the project stay on track to begin construction this fall with a spring 2022 completion.
 
Acme Township Parks and Trails committee, in partnership with TART Trails, has spearheaded trail planning and design. The trail will connect the current TART Trail terminus at Bunker Hill Road to the intersection of M-72 and US-31 in Acme. In addition, another section of the new trail will run east toward the Acme Meijer store and Grand Traverse Town Center development. The 1.8 mile Acme Connector will provide critical non-motorized infrastructure for residents and visitors to safely access businesses, existing trails, and recreation opportunities.
