Dear Library Community,

Things are beginning to feel more like normal times at the library. We've got expanded browsing hours, public seating, study rooms, and even our copy machine available again! Check out our services FAQ page for the latest updates. The statewide mask mandate has been lifted, but we support anyone who wears a mask and maintains social distance in the library.

Recently we were surprised and grateful to learn that the library had been named the beneficiary of a substantial estate by late resident Paul Kindsvater. He designated his gift for youth services at the library. Read on for details.

Did you miss library director Meg Spencer's Grand Circle Tour program last week? Good news: you can watch it on our YouTube channel, along with other library programs, highlights of new books, and more! Subscribe to get the latest updates.

Have you been enjoying the Olympics? Stop by to check out our new display with books, movies, and more inspired by the Games. We've also got lots (and lots) of new books for every kind of reader, plus movies, TV shows, audiobooks, and more. Come browse the new shelves or ask for suggestions at the reference desk. We're always happy to talk books with you.

See you soon!
Library Receives Generous Gift
The library recently received notice that we were named as beneficiary of a generous estate. Local resident and retired teacher Paul Kindsvater, who passed away in 2020, designated his gift of more than $500,000 for youth services for ages 18 & under at the library. Fellow members of the Florence Masonic Lodge 107 came by on July 21 to present a check to the library. We are so grateful to Kindsvater's generosity in considering the library in his estate, which will benefit generations of future readers in our community.
