SUSAN GEORGE LAUNCHES NEW APPEAL FOR HER CHARITY
Susan George has launched an appeal, exclusive items for her My Things & Others Auction, a new development of the Charity shop. My Things & Others supports her existing charity Lasting Life, which helps those with Cancer. She has appealed for articles belonging to celebrity friends and others, to be auctioned in aid of the Charity.
Now 70, the actor, writer, producer, and Arabian horse breeder, was born in Surbiton in Surrey. She started acting at the age of four and went on to train at the Corona Theatre School.
A career in film and television followed and in 1971, she came to prominence in Sam Peckinpah’s brutal movie Straw Dogs, based in Cornwall, acting alongside Dustin Hoffman. This was an experience she enjoyed very much.
She was married to the actor Simon MacCorkindale, from 1984 until his death from Cancer in 2010, and in whose honour Lasting Life was created. It was the breeding of their Arabian horses on a stud farm on Exmoor in Devon, which she concedes, helped her with the aftermath of heartbreak and grief.
