Hello SLSC Community,
Here we are, three weeks into the season, and it's starting to feel a bit like the old days of Club.
Tired, happy, soggy sailors are coming home, regaling us with stories of winning, and losing, dumping and righting....and the injustices of some game or other. There are scrapes and bruises, sunburns and lost shoes.
Isn't it nice to hear these tall tales again?
Thank you for taking the time to fill out your Daily Covid Screening....doing this before we begin the day helps to keep the smooth functioning of everything.
It's wonderful to be back.

SUNDAY AFTS ARE BACK....AND ROARING!

Last Sunday, there was an impressive turnout for the inaugural Sunday Afts 2021 season.
We had over 10 boats! Mostly sailors from SLSC...there was only ONE Laser out there, hint hint, so time to dust off that tiller and get back out on the water.
If you have loaned your Laser to the Club for the summer, you are MOST WELCOME to come and race with it on Sunday.
AND....this weekend's theme:
BEAT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
The whole instructor team will be out in force, so come on out and get ready to show them your best stuff.
Arrive at SLSC for 12:30 to rig up.
Race course starts at 1:30 on the water.

Bring Your Own Lunch
Bring Your Own Reusable Water Bottle-
Pack your stuff, label it with your name and boat description, and it will be delivered to you ON-WATER

While Club is running, In the event storms are forecasted, families will be notified in advance of the sailing day if the tents are not able to provide adequate shelter from rain. There is no ability to shelter indoors from a storm.
Sailors will be required to stay home on that day.
Likewise, if inclement weather develops, parents will be notified and asked to come and pick up their sailors.
NOTE: it will be important for the Instructors to have contact phone numbers for each sailor for quick and efficient information sharing. Please make sure your contact information is up to date.

REPORTING A SAILOR ABSENCE
|
|
|
|
If your sailor is registered but is unable to attend on any given day, please inform the club by emailing the head instructor at attendance@slsc.ca
If you do not have access to email at the cottage, please call SLSC at 705-887-5110
If your sailor is absent for attendance, shortly after drop-off, and the instructors have not been informed of the absence, then they will attempt to notify you using the emergency contact information provided at registration.
