The suspense is killing me
Every day I inspect a monster squash plant growing in an inconvenient location in my garden. I thought the volunteer veggie was a cucumber, so I put a tomato cage around it. Now the squash has run out of "up," and it can only go over or down. Where will it go next? What kind of squash is it? Just how huge is it going to get?

Mundane mini mysteries are perfectly fine with me right now. I do yardwork in the mornings, work during the day, and write and cartoon in the evenings. Writing, and riding out the hot, sweltering days of summer.

Stump and Lamb

This blog post series continues on a variety of different topics: Japanese pioneers in rural Washington, a picturesque "Methosidt" cemetery in eastern Washington, and a reminder to life a fuller life.

The Tarot of Michelle

Sixty-odd cards are now illustrated in this personal cartoon "oracle" deck featuring illustrations of values, lessons and priorities. Here's the backstory behind this art project. I'm writing up backstories for the cards too:  The Twingler, Found Crystal, Yellow Baling Twine. See the developmental art on Patreon.

Past my bedtime: David Sedaris

Diabetes with Owls? The cover and title of this book is just too weird so I decided to read a few of David Sedaris's books. He's a very funny, award-winning humorist and essayist, so I thought he'd be a good example for me while I write up the stories behind the Tarot of Michelle cards.
