Keith Wattley is the Founder and Executive Director of UnCommon Law, a Bay Area organization fighting to ensure that all people incarcerated for violent crime have access to healing, justice and effective legal representation.
Mr. Wattley focuses on helping people transform their lives and demonstrate to the parole board that they can safely be released from prison. He has also brought legal challenges involving unlawful prison and parole conditions, and has trained hundreds of lawyers, law students, and other advocates.
The Obama Foundation selected Mr. Wattley as one of its inaugural Fellows in 2018. Mr. Wattley also teaches a course entitled “California Prisons and Discretionary Parole” at UC Berkeley School of Law where he also supervises the Post-Conviction Advocacy Project.
