Can You Feel It?

Wow can you believe it, July is coming to an end? This month seems to have gone so fast. We are so thankful for all of our prayer and financial partners. We couldn’t have gotten to this point without all of your help!

For July, we have been facilitating things at our home church while our Pastor and his family are away on Sabbatical. Keith continues to teach the men’s bible study on Tuesday mornings. Be in prayer that God will reveal to us whom He wants to take over teaching as we prepare for our departure. Keith has also been preaching Wednesday nights this month while our Pastor is away. He preached through the book of 2 Timothy and showed us how we are to “Guard the Gospel.” Jenny has been helping out in the church office with the Sunday church bulletin, assisting with the planning of VBS and a baby shower for one of the new members of our home church Sun Coast Baptist.

Each month CCI has a prayer meeting with the coordinators and directors. This is a time for us to share concerns and pray for one another. It is always a time of encouragement and blessing as you hear a fellow servant of the Lord praying for you and your needs and sometimes in a different language. Keith has been meeting with his team of teachers monthly via video conference call. Currently, there is only one teacher on the team, Erik Stanley. As they meet, they discuss things that are going on and encourage each other in the Lord.

We have been spending some time planning for our trip to Rocca Blanca Language School. The school is “Created by Missionaries for Missionaries and Cross-Cultural Christians.” The school is located in Cacalotepec, Oaxaca, Mexico. The US State Department bulletins continue to show that the Roca Blanca Spanish Language School is located in the safest and most secure area in Mexico, well and easily patrolled, virtually free from the drug and other violence issues that are plaguing Mexico’s border towns and some large cities. It also looks like we will have decent cell service there too.

In just two more months and we will be traveling to Mexico (viajando a Mexico). Things are starting to move rapidly. The closer we get to departure the more the worry sets in for us. There is the fear of the unknown, the fear of learning a new language at our age, and the distance from family. However, we are told by Jesus in the book of Matthew chapter six that we are not to worry about these things. We can prepare for them, but not worry about them because God cares for us. This is something we have to keep reminding ourselves about. We know that God has big plans for us.

October is going to be BIG!!!

God has been confirming for us that we are doing His will as of right now, He has raised $11,020 of the $16,000 we need to raise for our move! Praise GOD!!! We have discussed with our organization CCI (Crossing Cultures International) and we can begin to make our preparations for Language School. Our projected departure date is October 20th. How exciting right!?! We can’t wait! Pray for us as we start booking flights to language school, still planning meetings with individuals and churches before we go and packing our things. Whew, the next few months are going to be busy! Pray for us as the next step in our journey gets closer.
