Sage Advice + A Long Walk Home
Last year, Sharise and a number of Blue Mountains Camino Supporters walked the Wayside Chapel's "Long Walk Home" which raises funds for the Wayside Chapel in Potts Point. Wayside care for our most vulnerable people in Sydney.
The event will be on again this year in early October.

Many of you supported the walk by donating to the Wayside's appeal or simply encouraged us to complete the 28km through the miserable rain! Just like some days on the Camino our walk was challenging.  Now more than ever we need each other, and our local communities need our support.

Jon Owen the Pastor at Wayside captured this recently in his weekly email.

Our hearts weren't made to hold the pain of the world. Rather they are made to hold the pain of neighbourhoods and the relationships in which we find ourselves located. I guess what I am trying to encourage you to do, is not take the pain of the entire world into your heart right now. Focus on who your life has been intricately woven with. It is then that we can gently await those moments to land in our hearts at a pace that can really move us. Jon Owen.

We have registered a Blue Mountains Camino Supporters Team if anyone would like to join the Long Walk Home.  You can walk 28km during the week 2-8 October, or walk the entire distance on Sunday 3rd October.

We would love to hear your plans, where you're walking and when. During the week we will be sharing your walks and photos on our FB page.  And at the end come together via a Long Walk Home Zoom to celebrate our walks.

You can find out more about those walking in the Blue Mountains Camino Supporters Team, how to join the team, or make a donation HERE.

We may not be to walk the Long Way Home together, however,
we can walk together in Camino Spirt.

Our August Camino Trivia
We had great fun hosting a Camino Trivia on Saturday the 28th August.  It was nice way to connect with each other and share an hour and test our Camino knowledge. With the power of Zoom we had people join us from Victoria and Greater Sydney.

It was wonderful to receive such lovely feedback from Pilgrims who joined us:
"Really enjoyed the catch up. Nice to do something different"
"That was great fun and a terrific morale-booster in these glum days! "
"It was a lot of fun. Conversation is one of the things we miss I think"

Well done to the Cosmic Voyagers team from Victoria who won the 1st Prize!  And our local Jenny Abrahams and Diane Anderson for taking out the other 2 prizes !!
