GARDEN WASTE COLLECTION LATEST
Joint Waste Solutions have just issued the following statement on Friday 13 August 2021:-
Due to the continued national shortage of HGV drivers, the fortnightly garden waste collection service in Woking will be suspended for two weeks from Monday 16 August to Friday 27 August.
“Please do not put your bin out or report your bin as missed. Your garden waste subscription will be extended to compensate for the missed collection, but please do renew it as normal to ensure there is no break in service.
We apologise for the inconvenience this issue is causing and thank you for your patience as we work to resolve the situation. You can find out more about the driver shortage here.
You can take your garden waste to a Community Recycling Centre for free. Details about the centres are on the Surrey County Council website. You might also want to think about composting your garden waste at home. There is lots of information and advice about this on the Surrey Environment Partnership website.”
STRONGER TOGETHER – PYRFORD COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS - MEETING LOCATION CHANGE
Following the first two successful sessions on Loss and Embracing Change, our community conversations continue with two more sessions planned for September as follows:
6th September 2021 – The psychological impact of the pandemic – Dr Eleanor Clark
27th September 2021 – Talking about addiction – tbc
These talks are open to all who live and work in Pyrford, and the talk on 06/09/2021 will now be at Pyrford Village War Memorial Hall starting at 8pm.
Please do spread the word about this community initiative and take advantage of these free, informative evenings to help ourselves, our friends and our neighbours.
