Part of our ongoing “Thinking About Place” project, this philosophy drive-in gathering will explore “sense of place” through three short films & a podcast storytelling.  Afterward, we’ll talk as a group about what things stood out as “ingredients” of place & how these track with our own perceptions and experiences (here in Helena and elsewhere).
Thursday, Sept. 9th (7pm-9pm)
Pavilion (Reeder's Alley)
*If the weather is funky, well meet inside the Conference Center in Reeder's Alley*

Our Philosophy Think & Drinks are casual and informal, community-oriented, intellectually stimulating, and fun.  You do not need a background in philosophy to enjoy & participate in these gatherings.  An open mind & desire to engage in thoughtful dialogue (whether from a listening or contribution standpoint) is all that’s needed!
Monday, Sept. 13th (7pm-10pm)
The Roxy Theater (Missoula)

The World View Film series, hosted by Global & Cultural Affairs at ARTS Missoula, is back at the Roxy Theater this fall, featuring four movies about “Cultures in Flux”on the 2nd Monday of every month from from September through December. Following each film, Humanities Montana speaker and Merlin Director, Marisa Diaz-Waian, will facilitate a community conversation inspired by questions raised in the movie. The conversations have the aim of creating a space for thoughtful dialogue, reflection, and sharing.
Friday, Sept. 17th (6:30pm-8:30pm)
Daisy Hill Trail (Harrison Ave. & Curtis St.)
Learn More & RSVP
For eons and across cultures, the moon has been depicted in countless ways — from what it symbolizes and its beauty, energy and power, to how it haunts and invites us in.  In this evening walk with MT Poet Laureate Lowell Jaeger, we’ll look at moon-centered poetry for inspiration and follow the questions where they guide.  We’ll start with a casual stroll up Daisy Hill Trail and then “set camp” for a fun evening of storytelling, conversation, philosophy, and community beneath the stars.
Saturday, Sept. 18th (2pm-3:15pm)
Caretaker's Lawn (Reeder's Alley)
Learn More & RSVP
In this Humanities Montana sponsored community workshop led by Poet Laureate Lowell Jaeger, we’ll use short pieces of literature — starting with Robert Frost’s “Mending Wall”— to stimulate thoughtful discussion about what it means to be a good neighbor and the concept and “boundaries” of boundaries.
PLEASE JOIN US IN SEPTEMBER FOR ANY/ALL OF OUR EVENTS!
