Dear Members and Friends,

We hope that you are taking advantage of some of the fine weather and enjoying time in the fresh air, in the countryside or by the sea. Some of you  might have been travelling and others discovering new horizons closer to home.

I, myself had the opportunity of taking a snapshot of something I found to be so inspiring, which gave me the feeling of being able to fly wherever I wanted to be, and so uplifted in the process.

Another illustration brought me to this poem; a little wink to that friend out there who needs to know we are here, even though the season has not yet started. We are still preparing our flyers for next season, and feeling glad that we are all safe and looking for ways to remain connected.
 


The Value of Friends

We talk of friends, both near and far
And often wonder how they are
We plan to chat to them today
But somehow life gets in the way...

There are chores that simply must be done
Business takes up time – then some!
We're tired or hungry, need a rest
Or other problems manifest...

In short, time flies at such a rate
With so much piled upon our plate
That a brief note on the Net
Is often as far as we get.

So when we hear something's amiss
It's like a sharp tap on the wrist
We grab that phone and get in touch
Because our friendship means so much.

But why do we not give a bell
And ask for news when all is well?
Our lives a series of high noons
We only jump when crisis looms!

Brussels Women's Club Charity Walks
