Honey’s Family
Our wonderful trappers, Diana and Mike, went trapping in Henly and got a cat, Honey, long before we had an appointment for her at our low cost vet. Since we have a very helpful regular veterinarian, we asked that clinic to spay her. The veterinarian doing surgery that day called me and asked if Honey could have her kittens as they were very far along. I hate terminating late pregnancies, so I said sure.
She gave birth to five kittens on Sunday, 8/8/21. Since it’s easy to grab a kitten family’s charts if their names all begin with the same letter, we named this family after flowers, shrubs, and trees starting what “H.” Please meet Hawthorn, a red tabby, boy we think; Henna, a brown tabby girl with a splotch of red tabby on her head; Honeysuckle, a calico girl (almost all calicos are female); Hibiscus, a tortoiseshell girl (tortoiseshell males are rarer than calico males); and Hornbeam (look it up, it’s a hardwood tree), a brown tabby and white boy.

These kittens will be spayed/neutered on November 16, and ready for their new homes within a few days. Please consider sponsoring a kitten to cover their shots and spaying/neutering.

Uschi and her five boys—Harold, Ronnie, Beau Two, Clyde, and Beau Three—are now 2 1/2 weeks old and ready to go into a larger space. Uschi is REALLY ready! All ten eyes are open, they’re figuring out how to play with each other, and their ears are beginning to stand up. It’s so much fun to watch them grow and develop!
These kittens will all be neutered on 11/3/21. If you would like to sponsor a kitten, go to our donation page and select "Sponsor a Kitten." This covers the costs of their shots and getting neutered.

Hazelnut is now available for adoption. He is an introverted, playful, a quiet observer.

Please check out the many adoptable kittens and cats on our website. You can see them in their foster homes via Zoom. Fill out an adoption application online and one of our adoption coordinators will get in touch with you.
Zoom is a wonderful venue for adopting out cats. Dogs are so easy! You put a leash on a dog, drive him to a noisy pet store full of people, and he’s absolutely his adorable self. We like to think that cats have more boundaries and self-respect than that. They’re uncomfortable in strange surroundings.
Remember this means they’re uncomfortable when they first get to your home. But they’ll warm up soon and you’ll be telling your friends, family, coworkers, people in line in Starbucks, anyone who will listen, “This is the BEST CAT EVER!!”
