TENNESSEE VALLEY BAPTIST ASSOCIATION

September 2021 Newsletter

I hope to see you at our Executive Board Meeting on September 14th at Smyrna Baptist. I had hoped to resume having our meetings at the Association Office, but the return of COVID has made it expedient to meet in a larger facility. We will sterilize the building with a fog machine before the meeting.
Like you, I am disappointed that COVID has returned. I think most of you will agree that COVID has been the greatest outside challenge to the American church in our lifetime. The stress on our churches has been immense, especially for our pastors. I hope that you will pray for the pastors/elders and deacons of your church. Satan would love to use this time to cause division in the church, but God is greater than all that Satan brings against us.
Pastor Mike Breeden recently led a team from   Garrison Baptist on a mission trip to Romania to our church in Bod. The Speranta (Hope) Church joined our  Association last year. Although their trip was cut short by a death in the church, they saw 3 saved in a house visit when a mom, dad, and a teenage son prayed to receive Christ as their Savior and Lord. Lord willing, in October I plan on  going there to preach evangelistic services in a nearby village of mostly Roma (Gypsy)  people. Please let me know if you’re interested in going with me. Pray that we will see lost souls saved as we go.

From,
Your Fellow Pastor and DOM
Dr. David H. Haynes
