Elevation Worship has a song entitled “O Come to the Altar”. The lyrics ask us if we are broken and weary, have we come to the end of ourselves and if we are thirsty and long to drink from the well. The song moves through the sorrows and grief of life, the acknowledgment of regrets and encourages us to trade our sorrows for joy because Jesus is calling. The chorus invites us to come to the altar, for God’s arms are open wide.

These past several weeks have propelled us back into a sense of uncertainty as the Delta variant rises and all of our ICU units across the state are once again at capacity. Fires have raged leaving a mere ash of where a town once stood. Water shortages have left our farmers unable to nourish their crops or tend to their flocks. Flooding and earthquakes have swept through nations who are without the interior leadership to lead the way to tend tragedies in the fallen communities. Thousands are rushing to hang onto the wings of American planes in desperation as their country hangs perilously by a thread.

We are inviting you to join us for a special night of prayer and intercession this Wednesday at 7:30 on Zoom to come to the altar for those who are weary, have come the end of their rope, are filled with sorrow and brokenness in this season of devastation, and uncertainty. Let us unite together for our neighbors, our community, our country and our world. We invite you to have a candle, paper/pen, a mask, and something that represents our troops or our world with you.
