The Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey praised Governor Murphy for signing into law the Tom Canzanella Presumptive Bill that protects first responders from various workplace illness and cancer, the Dominick Marino Enhanced Benefits for Surviving Spouses Bill, The “Bill Ricci” Bill which provides benefits and protections for those involved in the September 11th rescue and recovery efforts and the Workplace Democracy Enhancement Act which provides safeguards for unions in light of the Supreme Court Janus ruling.

“Governor Murphy has a deep respect for labor, and over the past 3+ years as our Governor he has demonstrated that respect repeatedly. From day one, the PFANJ has had a seat at the table with Governor Murphy and he has signed every bill we put on his desk, many of which provide significant benefits and safeguards for our members. Governor Murphy has also funded the pension system better than any other governor and these actions cannot be ignored. We look forward to continuing this relationship and working with him in the future,” said PFANJ President, Steve McConlogue.
