Health design is a relatively new field. Health designers can be highly trained architects, product designers, or graphic designers, as well as clinicians and patients. Health design seeks to approach any challenge encountered by patients, healthcare workers, hospitals, healthcare institutions, and communities. An emerging body of literature supports why design thinking is important for companies, particularly amplified by covid and structural racism.
