New Survey:
COVID Vaccine + Your Menstrual Cycle

INNOVATION

Considering the recent rise in reporting of potential menstrual cycle-related side effects related to getting the COVID-19 vaccine, we believe it is critical to better capture these stories to inform further research and response from healthcare professionals, pharmaceutical companies, governments, etc. Our new survey aims to capture the first-hand experiences of people who have experienced a side effect/s as a result of taking a COVID-19 vaccine so as to inform current and future advocacy efforts. We 100% support vaccines but think it's important to improve that process and experience for women and people with cycles.

Your contributions are invaluable and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences! The completion of this survey will take between 5-10 minutes.

Highlights from Fibroid Awareness Month in July

EDUCATION / ADVOCACY

Did you know that fibroids can be undetectable, the size of different fruits (i.e., from the size of a grape to a melon) or that they can push up against other organs and/or become a heavy mass in the abdomen sometimes reaching as high as the rib cage? Approximately 26 million women in the US have been diagnosed and are currently living with uterine fibroids. However, there remains a significant number of people that are undiagnosed and potentially coping with the symptoms unaware of this potential condition.
The Fibroid Foundation led the charge to raise awareness during Fibroid Awareness Month (July). In addition to pushing for policy action in the US, together with Flo App, they released an Uterine Fibroid Expert Guide to their 28 million+ users! Altogether, they hosted 12 events packed with top fibroid experts and patient voices (all replays can be found on their YouTube page).

*We use the word female to denote the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs, distinguished biologically by the production of gametes (ova). At the MH Hub, the term 'female health' is used to capture the experiences related to the presence of the menstrual cycle and the specific health issues an individual may face over their life cycle as a result.  We recognize that not all women menstruate, and not all who menstruate identify with being a woman, and strongly advocate for the inclusion of diverse voices, identities and bodies in discussions around female and menstrual health.
