Robinhood, Ergodicity, and How to Invest
On Thursday, July 29, trading app Robinhood went public via an IPO priced at $32 billion. How Robinhood keeps its customers trading on the app is a matter for another post. Robinhood enjoys a very high share of daily active users, similar to that of Twitter, Snapchat, and Facebook.
I have benefited from investing. Two frameworks have served me well when navigating this complex topic. One of them is ergodicity economics.
This post that I wrote for Money on the Mind in May 2020 sums up some of my thinking around ergodicity and investing. I want to share it with you today because I believe that this topic has never been more important. To understand it better, I recommend that before reading it you check Ollie Hulme’s excellent Nudgestock talk on ergodicity.
If you find the post useful, please share it.
Practice. Dream.
