Fourth National Lottery licence competition timetable update
We have extended the timelines for Phase Two of the Fourth National Lottery licence competition, following representations from applicants and experience from Phase One.
The amended timeline will see four weeks added to the Phase Two application stage and a further six weeks for evaluation. These changes will provide opportunity for applicants to further refine their proposals and for the Commission to evaluate.
To facilitate these changes, and ensure a smooth transition, we will extend the third National Lottery licence by six months. The Fourth National Lottery licence will begin in February 2024.
Our new research explores the gambling journeys and behaviours of young people
We have published new research which explores the gambling journeys and behaviours of young people and adults aged 16 to 30.
The research, delivered by global insights agency 2CV, was conducted using a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, which allowed us to further explore the views of this demographic in their own words and reflecting their own voice.
This includes outputs from parts of the consultation relating to:
Newly strengthened guidance on the protection of adult audiences; and
technical updates to the introductory parts of the UK Advertising Codes’ gambling sections.
CAP and BCAP commit to delivering the final outcome of the consultation, including consideration of proposals for new rules on the protection of under-18s, by the end of 2021.
