Supporting Nepal during Covid - My blog explains more.
Nepal has been severely hit by Covid-19 - and now the Delta variant leaves them struggling even more. With no NHS, limited hospitals and medical supplies, and income cut to almost zero as no tourists are allowed in - even basic food has become an issue for many.   Could you help?
Here's my Blog that explains more - and how you might be able to help - small donations so welcome.
Plus - if you buy  "The Path to Calm" my meditation MP3 recording - all monies go to this fund (details in the blog).

A nourishing workshop: REST - RELAX - RESTORE.
Sunday 29th August, 2-4pm.  In Person and via Zoom.

A deeply nourishing afternoon that weaves together gentle, restorative yoga – simple healing sound/chant – and Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep).  Suitable for all, this 2 hour retreat-style workshop begins with simple breathwork to calm the mind and body, followed by soothing restorative yoga postures that support a deep sense of ease and letting go of your daily life, responsibilities and stress.  These postures, when combined with simple healing sound (optional, it’s all very quiet), create a sense of wellbeing that in turn recharges your batteries in an easeful way.

From simple humming to single syllable (Bija) sounds, the vibration of sound has a remarkable effect on our mind and body.  Like an internal massage, sound releases stress and tension held in the muscles and fascia.  It is soothing for the mind, and naturally lengthens the exhale which calms the nervous system and expels stale air from the lungs.  Humming and Bija sounds also support good immune function and helps us to feel happier naturally.

We finish with a guided Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) that is said to be the equivalent of 3-4 hours sleep in just a 304-40 minute practice.

The Sound of Grace Retreat - 1st - 3rd October 2021 in Dorset

Our next Sound of Grace retreat takes place at the beautiful Grade II listed Monkton Wyld Centre.  Nestled on the outskirts of Charmouth, the beach is just a 5 minute drive away.

Our June retreat - only the second that the community at Monkton Wyld had held after lockdown (and they did brilliantly!) - was so well received.  Our autumn retreat runs from 4pm Friday 1st to 3pm Sunday 3rd October.

"I adored the weekend and so many unexpected aspects made it incredibly special.  The healing chant was beautiful, and touched my heart so deeply.  Monkton Wyld is special - simple, and with a magical energy.  " Helen, Manchester.

Weaving together gentle, therapeutic yoga, sacred chant, silence, healing music and expressive movement - it is a weekend to experience ancient healing practices that support our 21st century living.

Here's a recording of just one of the much-loved healing chants we shared. Om Jesu

Sound & Silence - Healing Chant Circle &
NEW Programmes

I've taken a break for a couple of months, partly due to running the June retreat and partly because my own study has been happily time-consuming (Vedic chant is incredible, very exact, and a privilege to be part of the lineage).

We return in September - with a slight change. We will continue to meet on the first Sunday of each month.  Three times a year (September, January and May) it will be an open-to-all session, followed by short focussed courses (once a month for 3 sessions) for those who are interested in learning and refining healing chant and giving you the opportunity to explore a theme, and go deeper.

The last 18 months of Covid have delayed this offering - but with 20 years experience it is more than time that I focussed on developing those who feel drawn to sacred chant for health, healing and spiritual connection.  This is in addition to my regular 1:1 students.  It is a beautiful and special experience to chant together (amazingly it still worked powerfully via Zoom!), but I am committed to supporting people to practice between our monthly sessions, and therefore take a deeper journey into sacred chant and mantra.  In my next newsletter I'll announce the programmes (VERY exciting!) - but rest assured that the drop-in opportunity will continue.

COMING VERY SOON!  A new online booking system will be integrated into my website in the coming week.  I've spent many hours researching and reviewing different systems, and am really pleased to have found one that will make our lives simpler.

This will make it really easy for you to book and pay in one place, get an email and/or text SMS reminder message, and receive the Zoom link for each session too.  This will apply to yoga courses, Sound & Silence chant sessions, workshops and one-to-one yoga or coaching appointments.  I'll update you, and send instructions on how to set up your account - it's simple and easy to do.
I shall leave you with this reflective poem by John O'Donohue

FOR PEACE

As the fever of day calms towards twilight
May all that is strained in us come to ease.

We pray for all who suffered violence today,
May an unexpected serenity surprise them.

For those who risk their lives each day for peace,
May their hearts glimpse providence at the heart of history.

That those who make riches from violence and war
Might hear in their dreams the cries of the lost.

That we might see through our fear of each other
A new vision to heal our fatal attraction to aggression.

That those who enjoy the privilege of peace
Might not forget their tormented brothers and sisters.

That the wolf might lie down with the lamb,
That our swords be beaten into ploughshares

And no hurt or harm be done
Anywhere along the holy mountain.
