Solutions

Have an upcoming vacation outside of the United States? It’s critical that you do not log in to your email or access any state systems while you are outside of the country. Logging into any state systems can present a significant security risk. Not to mention the biggest issue, you are on vacation! Enjoy your time off and do not work.

If you must travel internationally to conduct official State business, the CDHS Executive Director, CDHS HR Director, the State’s Chief Information Security Officer, and the State Personnel Director must approve the travel. Any requests for international travel for State business should go through any office clearance processes prior to the request being sent to the CDHS HR Director and Executive Director for their review and approval.

CorVel is the new workers’ compensation administrator for the State of Colorado, effective July 1, 2021. CorVel brings us a new feature for injured employees to obtain guidance from a Registered Nurse for direction on medical care for work related injuries through the 24/7 Nurse Triage Line. Employees and supervisors may call a nurse 24 hours a day to discuss workers’ compensation medical care for a new injury.

To speak live with a Registered Nurse regarding medical care for a work related injury, please call the 24/7 Nurse Triage Line at (855) 542-4064.

Employees are still required to utilize the IOJ desktop icon to report a claim. After filing the claim through the desktop icon, the employee should also call the Nurse Triage Line for direction and guidance on medical care.

Benefits of the new features with Corvel:

  • Employees speak live to a nurse on the 24/7 line.
  • Using the 24/7 nurse line, the claims will be reported the same day.
  • Corvel has seen a reduction in the length of a claim when the nurse line is utilized.

If you have any questions regarding this new process, please reach out to us at

Kudos to our Staff who are Keeping the Lights On

Mike Atencio, Material Handler III

I'm reaching out to let you all know how wonderful Mike has been with helping me get the Badge Buddies and stickers divided up and delivered to our facilities!

I dropped the project on him out of the blue with very little direction and he made it happen quickly, kept me updated and communicated throughout, and made necessary and helpful decisions to work around issues with missing badges and stickers.

So, point being, thank you, Mike! You've been extremely helpful with this project.
